Sought for Corrections Awards
CAAO will be presenting two
awards for “Excellence through Accreditation” at the 2010 CAMA Conference in Columbus, Ohio hosted by CAAO. The Geno Natalucci-Persichetti Award for Excellence Through Accreditation is given to an
individual or organization in the field of Juvenile Corrections that has exhibited professionalism in the area of corrections,
and specifically in the area of accreditation. The Reginald A. Wilkinson
Award for Excellence Through Accreditation is given to the individual or organization in the field of Adult Corrections
that has exhibited the same traits. Both awards are named for corrections professionals who have contributed
significantly to the field of corrections in Ohio and nationally, and have been leaders in the area of accreditation. Geno
Natalucci-Persichetti (Retired) was Director of the Ohio Department of Youth Services and is the former Chairman of the Commission
on Accreditation for Corrections (CAC). Reginald A. Wilkinson, Ed.D., was Director of the Ohio Department of
Rehabilitation and Correction and is former President of the American Correctional Association. Both are previous
recipients of the prestigious E.R. Cass Correctional Achievement Award from the American Correctional Association. Because
of the efforts of these two men, Ohio has been a national leader in corrections and correctional accreditation. These
awards were created to honor our colleagues who have exemplified the example set by these corrections leaders. Nominees
may be submitted from either adult or juvenile corrections, in any segment of the correctional field. All CAAO members
are eligible to submit letters of nominations and one nomination will be selected in the adult correctional category and one
from the juvenile correctional filed. Please take a moment to think of agencies or individual whom you think are deserving
