Reggie Oliver,

Freshman QB of the 1970 Marshall Football Team and featured in the Movie "We are Marshall".

Reggie Oliver was a freshman quarterback at Marshall University in 1970 when the football team's plane crashed killing 75 people, which included almost all of the varsity football team and coaches. He didn't make the trip because NCAA rules at that time prevented freshman from playing. Reggie is featured in the Warner Brothers film "We Are Marshall" played by actor Arlen Escarpeta. The film explains the building of the Marshall football team after the 1970 tragedy. After Marshall Reggie played professional football and then began a career as a teacher and football coach. Reggie's positive message of survival and triumph over adversity is inspirational.
